Rockstar: INXS Update #3

Well, Suzie fell and the remaining 3 (Marty, J.D., and Mig) are in the final show. Last night's show was good. Next week's show will be awesome! I'm still on the Marty bandwagon. Although, the ideal frontman for INXS would be a combo of the final 3...Marty's voice and vision, J.D.'s stage presence and songwriting skills, and Mig's Aussie roots. No one can really measure up to the late great Michael Hutchence. Sorry guys, you just don't! Check out the final episodes of Rockstar: INXS on CBS next Tuesday at 9PM and Wednesday at 8PM.

Last night was my first time to see Rock Star INXS. I'm no music industry expert... And I don't want to sound like Simon or anything... but homeboy Mig... just doesn't cut it.... he got the accent.... the rock star first name... but seriously... vocal talent... lacking... It's saddening to know that half the people at FC are far better vocalists than the people making the finals on reality shows. Mig's a great guy... but that doesn't get you far in the music world... Marty's got heart and passion.... but he's missing the IT factor for me. As always... I can't tell you what "It" is.... but I know what it’s not.... he's great.... but great vocalists are dime a dozen... you need writing skills... stage skills... more drive than a Peterbilt … and you need "it". JD's not the holy grail or anything... but he's the best fit of the bunch... I think he could develop very well too... We all can think of people who started out good.... maybe even great…. But with a little more experience and coaching on the resume… they turned into pure excellence... I think JD can get there...

Naturally… it’s up to the public opinion right? That’s where the real problem lies… If I was INXS… I’d be scared out of my mind…. Letting someone else choose your future seams like band suicide…

And finally…. Where the heck was Eric O when the casting call went out for this one???

I wondered the same thing. I mean, he goes through the audition process for The Amazing Race, but no Rockstar: INXS? I'm beginning to question his internal drive to be the rockstar he really is. He would have definitely been a better fit than Mig.
